The Painting
The complete Ramayana unfolds across more than sixty sequential panels, each hand-labeled in Devanagari script, tracing the epic from Rama's birth through exile, Sita's abduction, the building of the bridge, the war with Ravana, and the triumphant return to Ayodhya. At the center, a radiant sun-wheel medallion frames Rama's coronation. Every scene is rendered in fine sepia-and-gold linework, a technique unique to the Phad tradition of storytelling scrolls. Every inch of the cloth is painted.
Original. Handmade. Never reproduced.
